VAUGHAN, ON - The Ontario Futsal Cup was played this past weekend, with divisions split between the HoopDome in Toronto, and RIM Park in Waterloo. Snow and wind would not dampen the teams' spirits as they set their sights on the Provincial Championship.

1st OSA Futsal Coaching Course A Resounding Success
TORONTO -- The first ever OSA Futsal Coaching Course wrapped up this past Saturday in downtown Toronto. Hosted by the Toronto Soccer Association, the course was the first of its kind in the province and showcased a huge demand for the sport of Futsal, which has seen rapid growth in Ontario over the last four years.

A futsal team composed of 10 youth soccer players from Quesnel has been invited to participate in the Northern B.C. Winter games in Mackenzie Feb. 12-15.
“Futsal is faster, has fewer players, and there are more touches on the ball,” Quesnel coach Mike Page said.
“The transition of the ball results in more goals being scored.
“All of these things help make a better soccer player.”

Nacional Win a 3-2 Thriller over rivals Cruz Azul
TORONTO - The first ever Canadian Winter Futsal Classic wrapped up in Toronto this past weekend and it turned out to be a success on and off the court.
Eight of the top teams from the province of Ontario, where the best Canadian futsal teams play, were invited to compete in a newly formed tournament that was played under the FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game. Teams from both, FIFA rules leagues, including the Toronto Central Futsal League (TCFL), as well as the best from AMF leagues came together for the unity and progression of Futsal in Canada, which has not been the case in years past.
